Finally some more news about “The Sims 3″, the next sequel of the record breaking computer games “The Sims” and “The Sims 2″.

Just in time for the E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) computer and video games trade show the Sims publisher EA Games released the first official teaser video as well as some more in-game screenshots.

As a highly competent appreciator of the Sims series i had a closer look at the video and pictures and can tell you that The Sims 3 will look much better than ever!

At first everything looks like always, as if nothing had changed. The same cartoon-like look that is so typical and we all love so much…

Though we still know many of the objects we see here it’s obvious that everything is much more detailed and the graphic in The Sims 3 has improved at all.

For me it’s clear to see when i have a look at the most important – the Sims themselves…

Again, when you only have a quick look nothing seems to have really changed. A sim person still looks like a sim person.

But come closer, give it a try:

If you cannot see any difference to the sims 2 then let me tell you.

The 3D-Shape is much more detailed due to an larger amount of polygons. The contours of this woman are really smooth.

Look at the smoothness of the face! I’ve never seen that in the Sims 2. Or the straps of the skirt, the shimmering shoes. Arms and legs look much better shaped as well.

And have you ever seen such a deepness in the eyes of a Sim?

I’m sure that the sims 3 graphic engine will do much for us passionated Sims-Fans. And i hope EA/Maxis will give us enough cool tools to create lots of unique persons.

I’m looking forward to 2009, the official Sims 3 year ;)
