Elfish Spell 4 RELEASE DATE announced: MARCH 25
Lively is Google’s 3D-World for chatting and doing stuff. It’s free and very easy to use, people can create their own room(s) and decorate it with furnitures and numerous objects.
You can meet other people in Lively for chilling and chatting, or you just jump from one room to another and see what it’s all about.
After nearly 3 months they upgraded Lively to version 1.0.5 which makes it finally possible to visit rooms without the repeating log-in process, which was most annoying.
You only need to sign in one time and then can explore all the rooms until you close the session. That’s much better than before, it’s much easier and funnier to “move” in Lively now.
Only Problem is that it took 3 months to apply this feature and that it is the only change…
The developers still have lots to do and i hope they work harder better faster stronger because Lively has much potential but still stuck somewhere at the lower end.
If you want to check it out you can visit the mxm room and read all the tipps i’ve made for beginners. You also can enjoy some nice pictures of Lena Luv and her mates. You’ll find the mxm room here, on the introductional page or by going to Lively.com and search for “Models”, “Sims” or “mxm” for example.
The WordPress Developer Team was busy again and released another update of the world’s best blog-software, WordPress 2.6.1…
WP 2.6.1 is “only” a maintenance update and mostly contains fixes for international users, IIS Servers and a few smaller issues.
If you are running WordPress 2.6 it’s not required to upgrade to 2.6.1 but i recommend to upgrade anyway. The past has shown that it’s always better to upgrade to the latest WordPress version as soon as possible.
Thanks to the fantastic “WordPress Automatic Upgrade” Plug-in by Keith Dsouza the upgrade process is no problem and only takes a couple of minutes.
This Plug-in really is the most helpful thing on the planet and i’m glad that an “automatic upgrade” feature will be included in WordPress 2.7 that will arrive later this year (though the Plug-in does an excellent job).
And to all who still believe in WP 2.3.3 and hate 2.5: I never was a fan of WP 2.5 as well. I only upgraded because i didn’t want Technorati or Google ban my site due to outdated WordPress-Versions. But since 2.6 is out everything has changed! I can assure you that WordPress 2.6 works great – much better than 2.5 – and recommend to upgrade. It’s about time ;)
Google still hasn’t fixed the problem with the Photo-Frames in Lively which makes it really hard to use the new 3D-Chat for serious or halfway professional reasons.
Without the Photo-Frames it’s absolutely impossible to add individual branding, logos or artwork to a room. Actually most rooms look pretty much identical which can get very boring after little time.
In fact, after some big headlines and many euphoric critiques 2 weeks ago, Google Lively is far away from being the next big thing in cyberspace.
It’s just nice that Google has its own 3D-Chat now but i can’t see the Google-typical trend setting innovation – no matter how hard i try.
Anyway, i visit Lively almost every day and still have decorated my own chatroom to exhibit some hand-picked pictures and possibly meet a few MXM-Followers – anytime in the future.
Here are a few preview shots…
